Mother tongue

Mother tongue can be defined in many ways, but most often as the language a child learns first before other languages. Bilingual children can have two or more languages as a mother tongue.

Móðurmál, the Association on Bilingualism, is supporting and giving children the opportunity to learn and maintain their own mother tongue and provides lectures and presentations for parents, schools and the general public.
