Infant and toddler health care
The aim of Infant and toddler health care (Ung- og smábarnavernd) is to support children’s development in the best mental, physical and social conditions possible.
Nurses or midwifes visit homes of newborn children and their families to monitor health and wellbeing of the family and the child and provide training and advice.
From six weeks of age, regular checks at the healthcare centre are offered. Furthermore, parents are provided with advice on the child's care and upbringing as well as on parents’ wellbeing.
