A new compulsory school, Stekkjaskóli, opens in Selfoss in August 2021. With the new school, students from Sunnulækjarskóli and Vallaskóli living in the neighbourhood of Stekkjaskóli will be transferred to a new school in accordance with the school district policy of the Árborg Municipality.
